A founding member of the Rum & Kidney Men, Chris played with the band from 2004-2007, and has rejoined us for the summer of 2008. Classically trained in violin and voice, and (in his own words) a "self-taught dillettante at piano," Chris brings both a deep knowledge of music theory and excellent musicianship to the group. In addition to his exciting lead violin, Chris has a gift for developing harmonies, lending depth to the band's arrangements. Over the years, prior to his time with the Rum & Kidney Men, Chris played in a variety of ensembles, mainly orchestras and choruses, and performed in several countries around the world. Indeed, he has played in venues as diverse as the YKK zipper factory in Kurobe, Japan and St. Peters in Rome. Now he has begun to explore his Celtic roots -- that's right, roots! -- and the worlds of Celtic folk music and Bluegrass.

(Contrary to rumor, although a gifted violinist with a fine bass-baritone voice, Chris does not and never has played the banjo.) (back)
